One of the major objectives in the North Vietnamese Spring Offensive of 1972 was seizure of the town of An Loc on highway 13 to Saigon. They were stopped by a handful of American advisors starting in the town of Loc Ninh on the Vietnam/Cambodian border. Captain Mark Smith was determined not to allow the town to fall to the enemy and paid a high price in delaying the inevitable. As the attack progressed south against the town of An Loc, again Army Advisors played pivotal roles in delaying the North Vietnamese advance until help could arrived months later. Fly with Army pilots as they face the first recorded engagements with SA-7 Anti Aircraft missiles.
